Naphtha is an excellent thinner for oil based paints, stains, varnishes and enamels. It has a higher strength and faster evaporation rate than paint thinner (100% mineral spirits). Naphtha also degreases and cleans metal, porcelain and wood surfaces. It will also thin some adhesives such as rubber cement.
