The Brush is one of the most ingenious inventions made by humans, and almost as old as man himself. Paleolithic man used brushes, rudimentary ones, but brushes nonetheless. This is why, since time immemorial, a brush has been a kind of seismograph reflecting the sensitivity of the artist. Anselm Feuerbach, a German painter of the 19th century, very precisely defined three virtues and an absolute necessity that any good artist must possess: “A sensitive heart, good eyesight, a steady hand… and the best brush.”
